Entry #3 Prologue AND Finding Self in Selfie

The role of social media damages self-worth. It can make relationships stronger in a sense of bonding and getting to know someone, but it entangles many people in. People, if you think about it, are worked up in the social media world, and don't even know it. There's sort of an acceptance to it because in today's society, it's sort of the normal. You see many people with their phones out on social media with friends or family around. You also see kids on their parent's phone or sibling's devices watching social media or playing games on the social media apps. Without social media, there would be no purpose for some people, but most likely people that are worked up in it, wouldn't know how to function. It's also scary to think that this might be our world.

My reactions to the podcasts is: I can't believe people are so hung up on social medias. I can't grasp my brain around it. This idea were social media controls humans instead of the other way around. I think to myself I was literally born in the wrong generation. It bothers me that these teenager girls care so much about who likes their pictures, how many likes they get, and the simple need for it all. Don't get me wrong, I was a teenager once. If I didn't get many likes on a picture I would delete it and post it at a different time or post a better picture. But I didn't let it consume me and after the second picture, that would be that. Except, now a days, I hardly ever text someone back, LET ALONE get on social medias. It's too time constricting, and people should be out living life or at least spend less time on social medias than the world does now.

Another thing, for me when the girls; Julia, Elia, and Jane mentioned they don't "need" people to think they're pretty, I think it's the opposite. I think girls are more insecure so they want that acceptance. They want to feel pretty or if they see another girl in school "so pretty" they want to look like that too or similar. But who defines pretty?

The girls also mention, they "brand" themselves. It's absurd. It's crazy to hear teenager girls say that they brand themselves on social media. For the reason of needing to be or wanting to be relevant? I would say that ruins lives, unless modeling for them is seen in their future and becomes a career or hobby. I think it's a little ridiculous. But what're your thoughts or take on this?

I do however, think that this podcast makes sense. It talks about social media and the reasons behind it. Why people are so wrapped up in the internet world. But many people aren't so dis-engageed, but rather more engaged in what's going on online.

On that note, here's another meme.. And I'll leave it at that.

Entry #2 Entertainment & Music Industry

Depending on where you're at in life, there's no coincidence that everyone watches films and listens to music. They are popular, and musicians/singers want their listeners to connect some way and form in their music. On the other hand, authors and directors want to entertain their viewers. But either one of the industries can also help you escape. While I have your attention, please keep reading on. I know that people can relate. Whether it be in music or films, in some form or all the way, people are bound to feel something towards the music, and also in a movie; even if it is based on a true story or not. In terms, it can take your mind off stressful situations or the cloud that is fogging your mind, making it hard for you to focus. Sometimes you just need a break. Usually in music people find the connection when they can't connect with others or their feelings, but also escape. And films help you to escape into another world and dimension. A world where you're a part of the film depending what type of movies you're interested in. I know I've mentioned that a few times, but just think about it and all the music you have listened to. Or the times you watched a really good film and you felt a part of it or related in some way. I enjoy the entertainment and music industry both: 50/50, because when I have no words, music is my go to and relieves me. But when I just want to watch a good movie, I find an escape and wonder from reality for a while. I can focus on something else within the film. If this doesn't make sense or you disagree, the next time you hear a really good song or watch a fantastic movie, think about this. But for the mean time, what're your thoughts?

Entry 1# Topic About BLOGS

The very thought of creating a blog and blogs in general.. To keep people entertained in my writing is a challenge, well accepted.. And to hope I succeed. People write blogs all over the world for different reasons; for entertainment, to educate others, for fun, and to even share their life joys. Maybe even make money along the way, in blog writing. But I think blogs can be interesting, but also uneventful sometimes. My opinion to this is that: I feel that in a blog you must catch a readers' attention or the person won't feel the need to read or bother to keep reading. In eighth grade going into high school I tried to make a blog once. I set up an account, but I didn't really know how they worked back then or even what to post about. I ended up not liking blogs at all because of that experience. I found that it was like Tumblr, only Tumblr was a little easier to use and better, because I would just post a picture and a title. I realized now, they're much alike, in that Tumblr consists of blogs/posting blogs. So, I can say I don't truly have a hate for blogs or blogging. I guess I just never really knew the meaning of the word blog. Blogs make up half the internet world, and the world is pretty much all synced to it. With that being said, I like to look at blogs that have to do with families, recipes, movie entertainment, actors/musicians, or even blogs that promote positive readings about success, because I think they're more intriguing. I read blogs from HUFFPOST, Best LGBT Weblog, and from Lifehack. I love the one about Living With Pride in Trump's America. I loved it because I can relate and the minority can too. Especially; the LGBT, and anyone else that doesn't fit on Trumps or America's standards. I'm reacting to this, because I feel people shouldn't have to hide or worry about what might happen to them, because who they are or who they love. I also found the Lifehack stories on how people became successful from nothing to making money inspiring. For example, one of the successful people listed in the blog, was Gary Vaynerchuk. One of my goals in life, is to become very successful. So, whenever I see or read about someone and their life journeys and how they became successful themselves, it helps and it's encouraging to me. It makes me push myself even more to my dreams and what I want to accomplish in life. I didn't like Real Simple, only because the blog website didn't have anything posted that caught my attention. It talked about Pinterest mainly, and I don't usually go on Pinterest. What're some of your favorite blog readings?

Practice RUN.

Hello, my name is Briana. I was raised in Arizona all my life, but I'm not from here. I like nice people, but mainly Starbucks and Jamba Juice. I'm married and I do not have kids yet. For years, I wanted to travel the world and now I can make that happen. Traveling seems like a great adventure, to have many getaway trips and relax. But it's also nice to not have to worry about having responsibilities for awhile. I also enjoy vacations because who doesn't? and sightseeing. I love hearing other people talk about their travels; not to mention about others that have the same interest in traveling. Below I will post a link that is great on savings for booking hotels and flights. I've recently started to travel, so I can finally say traveling is/ and has became my hobby. I also love, love, love to read books and films have also taken part of my interests. Aside from that, I like to write stories and I hope that one day I'm able to create a novel. I found my passion in writing about a few years ago, and finally knew I had a talent for it when teachers and my family would be impressed, let alone speechless. My grandma too, would tell me I should write a book about my journey with Diabetes and I suppose, I found my voice through other stories to tell.
