Entry #10 Final Blog Reflection

The time has come to an end; for writing blogs has been bittersweet. I really enjoyed blogging, but I wish I was able to have written more freely with no limits or topics in general to really write about. However, I did try my best to keep my posts consistent and it really all depends if you're interested in truly writing or not. The challenges of blogging I feel, is making sure to always keep readers entertained. I also found it challeging to make my posts relate to people. But if I learned anything from my knowledge to become a writer, it's to write from what you know. I also learned in class, that it takes more time to truly write something that could potentially be great; writing that could be expanded into a career or side job in blogging. For instance, blogging in general, people pay others to write blogs; depending if interesting or to engage readers and even to promote. I learned, I prefer blogging than writing essays. It made me realize I enjoy the opportunity to write about the topics I want to write about as well; the ideas I'm more intrigued about. On the other hand, I honestly don't think blogging was useful, because it was an extra assignment added onto the other assignments due in class.  I feel too, it didn't relate to all of our essays (besides one), but it is a good practice to expand more writing skills. I also don't think it would've been useful for other classes too, because the writing part of it and blogging isnt really needed in other courses that need to completed. Once again, I did enjoy the experience and it made me realize I really do like writing.

On that note though, I'm signing off, and I'll leave you with this one question. What're some of your thoughts as reflecting on blogging?

Entry #9 FILM And Holidays

There are so many movies I’m intrigued to watch, this Christmas. I’d like to see them all when each film comes out. But also the Christmas movies that play on T.V. at this time and during December. However, it’s strange to think that people just skip over Thanksgiving; even though they celebrate it. I’m starting to get into the holiday spirit but it’s hard when Halloween goes by so quick, then Thanksgiving doesn’t get noticed, and already it’s Presents time. The year feels like it’s being rushed every time. But this year, I’m hoping to go Ice Skating or to Glendale Glitters.

Leaving my post at that; what do you do around the holidays?

Entry #8 OH The Joys of Buying

Oh The Joys of Buying a New/Used Car is a challenge. There are a few options that could go right or could go wrong. For the most important tip I learned is; BRING SOMEONE THAT KNOWS THEIR STUFF! Bring a person that knows about cars, that has experience with cars, a good negotiator. Someone skilled in this field of "expertise". Otherwise, buying a car becomes a hassle, and not a fun thing.

I'm certain everyone goes through this in their life: whether they have to take a bike, carpool, take a bus; eventually people save up to get a car, and eventually in time buy a car. I have recently, bought 3 cars so far. THREE cars, and I'm at the age 22. The previous cars I've bought in the past were no good and with not so excellent sales people. I should have known the tricks, and bargains, and selling/ buying techniques from my first car. But needless to say, I've learned a lot from the experiences though, and obtained good advice for what is to come ahead in the future. So take note if this hasn't happened to you and you haven't bought a car yet, so you could be prepared. On another note, if this has/ hasn't happened to you(had positive experience) please share experiences.

Entry #7 Topics in Food Quest

I found a video on the internet; specifically a video on You-Tube that talks about Food Industry. It is a long video, but it has good insight on why companies have ruined the meaning of food and the reason there is a food problem to begin with. I feel like this is good information to share because it lets people know how the problem really did start, and it'll educate people more about the Food Industry. Real people also get to talk about their experience, and their feelings on food. The video also talks about the reason for Processed Foods or "Convenient" food as well. It goes back from years long ago to today's time. I feel this is a document everyone needs to watch and it's relevant, because everything talked about in English 101 about the Food Industry, this video provides even more detailed information. Now with that being said, this video if watched, will explain the reason I also posted it to my blog.

Entry #6 Movie Night AND Halloween

Witches, Ghosts, Goblins, and Scary Tales, the joys of October. I love when it is this time of month because stores start to have many Halloween theme decorations and costumes. I also admire the neighbors that decorate their lawns and get into the holiday spirit. Oh, and the love I have, for the Fall colors!

On the other hand, the weather is a little bit nicer because there are some days where it's windy out, instead of the excruciating heat, beaming on my skin. This weekend I get to attend, watching GooseBumps and Halloween. Growing up, I loved hearing stories from the GooseBumps, books; especially when my librarian teacher would read them to the class for October. She would read them in a spooky like tone, and have sound effects, towards the thrilling parts. So I'm glad they're starting to make the movies.

This month is also my Anniversary, so I'm happy to be celebrating both my anniversary and Halloween at the same time. My wife and I plan to go to a Pumpkin Patch, have dinner, and give candy out to the children that are Trick or Treating; while watching Scary movies. We also decorated the house in Danger/Crime tape, Skeletons, and Trick or Treat signs, and more.

I honestly, love Halloween and for next year I'm hoping to go to haunted houses and dress up for Halloween parities. But for the meantime, it's Michael Myers movie marathon, baking brownies, and cookies, while serving candy type of Thirty-First!

Entry #5 Fresh

Food for thought. When I think about the food I ingest it makes my stomach cringe. I feel terrible for the animals, and not being able to substitute what I eat with another type of protein, saddens me. I could become Vegan, but as a Diabetic, I need a source of protein and meats. I'm not well educated on the different types of meat, but if there's anything besides pig, chicken, or cow meat I can eat, I would like to.
I feel that animals don't deserve to be treated the way they do; even if it's the circle of life. Imagine it being the other way around, and all the animals ate humans instead. People were tossed around and abused ready for the animals to intake our organs and the flesh on our body.

I felt like the audience of the film was anyone that intakes food or anyone taking in educational purposes or just wanting to know something about Food Industries. But also the film is for anyone interested in where their food might come from. The tone for this film was informational. The movie gave a lot of insight on how people take care of their farm animals, but also how they feed humans; because that is basically what they're doing. Killing the animals to make pork or chicken, etc and making some money off food for us to survive. Aside from this, the film made me think of all the suffering animals, and what they might be feeling or going through. I also thought about all the food I intake and how it's scary to one day eat the wrong food, then it's a possibility for one to become sick. It's just sad, but this movie was important to watch.

I think that Americans should have the right to know what we're eating; as it pertains to us and could possibly be cooked wrong one day; not to mention our health. We could also take in considerations that not all people cook food correctly, or that what we eat could be harmful. It's also just good to know about preparation, how the food is cooked, and where it might come from.

We as Americans should care. There are people that die from getting sick from eating bad food. That can be prevented if more people knew about the situation and go passed just  thinking about the money, and take better care of the food we eat.

Imagine making more money that way instead of people not wanting to eat a certain food because they're worried its not good and something like food poisoning or Ebola will take effect. Hence, anywhere you go to eat, ask around about their food.

Entry #4 The NEED to Talk About Task Work

I'm most certain everyone has felt the need to exhaust all their thoughts or to de-compile some of the work load that they have on their plate. But has anyone truly had so much on their to-do list that they just want to drop everything and take a vacation for a few days? Possibly even weeks of vacation?! Task management is hard for some people, and I'm included in one of those people. Never the less, I do like to be organized and to complete work prior to it being due; for example, homework, and other work such as: cleaning, laundry, etc. But lately I've been so overwhelmed and have been doing everything last minute.

Many people would say that using a planner or writing out notes would be very helpful. So, I have started to challenge myself in doing so. I have also challenged myself to stay focused and keep myself motivated; whatever it takes. I stumbled upon a website that gives tips on managing time with anxiety. But does this thought process really work? And is there anything else that does this trick better than this?!

I understand that everyone has different ways of dealing with or figuring out how to manage their time. Others don't have the option and it comes natural, but the task work is starting to become a routine, and I don't have time for anything else it seems these days. I suppose that comes with having full on responsibilities, but it would be nice to not have so much to do in one day.

With this being said, my goal for the weekends to come, is to wake up and have absolutely nothing to do. If that doesn't happen, then to have only two-three tasks on my list. So I'm able to sleep in a little more.

Entry #3 Prologue AND Finding Self in Selfie

The role of social media damages self-worth. It can make relationships stronger in a sense of bonding and getting to know someone, but it entangles many people in. People, if you think about it, are worked up in the social media world, and don't even know it. There's sort of an acceptance to it because in today's society, it's sort of the normal. You see many people with their phones out on social media with friends or family around. You also see kids on their parent's phone or sibling's devices watching social media or playing games on the social media apps. Without social media, there would be no purpose for some people, but most likely people that are worked up in it, wouldn't know how to function. It's also scary to think that this might be our world.

My reactions to the podcasts is: I can't believe people are so hung up on social medias. I can't grasp my brain around it. This idea were social media controls humans instead of the other way around. I think to myself I was literally born in the wrong generation. It bothers me that these teenager girls care so much about who likes their pictures, how many likes they get, and the simple need for it all. Don't get me wrong, I was a teenager once. If I didn't get many likes on a picture I would delete it and post it at a different time or post a better picture. But I didn't let it consume me and after the second picture, that would be that. Except, now a days, I hardly ever text someone back, LET ALONE get on social medias. It's too time constricting, and people should be out living life or at least spend less time on social medias than the world does now.

Another thing, for me when the girls; Julia, Elia, and Jane mentioned they don't "need" people to think they're pretty, I think it's the opposite. I think girls are more insecure so they want that acceptance. They want to feel pretty or if they see another girl in school "so pretty" they want to look like that too or similar. But who defines pretty?

The girls also mention, they "brand" themselves. It's absurd. It's crazy to hear teenager girls say that they brand themselves on social media. For the reason of needing to be or wanting to be relevant? I would say that ruins lives, unless modeling for them is seen in their future and becomes a career or hobby. I think it's a little ridiculous. But what're your thoughts or take on this?

I do however, think that this podcast makes sense. It talks about social media and the reasons behind it. Why people are so wrapped up in the internet world. But many people aren't so dis-engageed, but rather more engaged in what's going on online.

On that note, here's another meme.. And I'll leave it at that.

Entry #2 Entertainment & Music Industry

Depending on where you're at in life, there's no coincidence that everyone watches films and listens to music. They are popular, and musicians/singers want their listeners to connect some way and form in their music. On the other hand, authors and directors want to entertain their viewers. But either one of the industries can also help you escape. While I have your attention, please keep reading on. I know that people can relate. Whether it be in music or films, in some form or all the way, people are bound to feel something towards the music, and also in a movie; even if it is based on a true story or not. In terms, it can take your mind off stressful situations or the cloud that is fogging your mind, making it hard for you to focus. Sometimes you just need a break. Usually in music people find the connection when they can't connect with others or their feelings, but also escape. And films help you to escape into another world and dimension. A world where you're a part of the film depending what type of movies you're interested in. I know I've mentioned that a few times, but just think about it and all the music you have listened to. Or the times you watched a really good film and you felt a part of it or related in some way. I enjoy the entertainment and music industry both: 50/50, because when I have no words, music is my go to and relieves me. But when I just want to watch a good movie, I find an escape and wonder from reality for a while. I can focus on something else within the film. If this doesn't make sense or you disagree, the next time you hear a really good song or watch a fantastic movie, think about this. But for the mean time, what're your thoughts?

Entry 1# Topic About BLOGS

The very thought of creating a blog and blogs in general.. To keep people entertained in my writing is a challenge, well accepted.. And to hope I succeed. People write blogs all over the world for different reasons; for entertainment, to educate others, for fun, and to even share their life joys. Maybe even make money along the way, in blog writing. But I think blogs can be interesting, but also uneventful sometimes. My opinion to this is that: I feel that in a blog you must catch a readers' attention or the person won't feel the need to read or bother to keep reading. In eighth grade going into high school I tried to make a blog once. I set up an account, but I didn't really know how they worked back then or even what to post about. I ended up not liking blogs at all because of that experience. I found that it was like Tumblr, only Tumblr was a little easier to use and better, because I would just post a picture and a title. I realized now, they're much alike, in that Tumblr consists of blogs/posting blogs. So, I can say I don't truly have a hate for blogs or blogging. I guess I just never really knew the meaning of the word blog. Blogs make up half the internet world, and the world is pretty much all synced to it. With that being said, I like to look at blogs that have to do with families, recipes, movie entertainment, actors/musicians, or even blogs that promote positive readings about success, because I think they're more intriguing. I read blogs from HUFFPOST, Best LGBT Weblog, and from Lifehack. I love the one about Living With Pride in Trump's America. I loved it because I can relate and the minority can too. Especially; the LGBT, and anyone else that doesn't fit on Trumps or America's standards. I'm reacting to this, because I feel people shouldn't have to hide or worry about what might happen to them, because who they are or who they love. I also found the Lifehack stories on how people became successful from nothing to making money inspiring. For example, one of the successful people listed in the blog, was Gary Vaynerchuk. One of my goals in life, is to become very successful. So, whenever I see or read about someone and their life journeys and how they became successful themselves, it helps and it's encouraging to me. It makes me push myself even more to my dreams and what I want to accomplish in life. I didn't like Real Simple, only because the blog website didn't have anything posted that caught my attention. It talked about Pinterest mainly, and I don't usually go on Pinterest. What're some of your favorite blog readings?

Practice RUN.

Hello, my name is Briana. I was raised in Arizona all my life, but I'm not from here. I like nice people, but mainly Starbucks and Jamba Juice. I'm married and I do not have kids yet. For years, I wanted to travel the world and now I can make that happen. Traveling seems like a great adventure, to have many getaway trips and relax. But it's also nice to not have to worry about having responsibilities for awhile. I also enjoy vacations because who doesn't? and sightseeing. I love hearing other people talk about their travels; not to mention about others that have the same interest in traveling. Below I will post a link that is great on savings for booking hotels and flights. I've recently started to travel, so I can finally say traveling is/ and has became my hobby. I also love, love, love to read books and films have also taken part of my interests. Aside from that, I like to write stories and I hope that one day I'm able to create a novel. I found my passion in writing about a few years ago, and finally knew I had a talent for it when teachers and my family would be impressed, let alone speechless. My grandma too, would tell me I should write a book about my journey with Diabetes and I suppose, I found my voice through other stories to tell.
